Come hungry and get ready to experience the many flavors and fascinating history of Manhattan’s Chinatown! We’ll travel from its beginnings in the 1800s to the vibrant neighborhood it is today, uncovering the stories, traditions, and culinary treasures that make Chinatown so unique.

We’ll start at Nam Wah Tea Parlor, Chinatown’s oldest dumpling restaurant, then make our way to a secret spot on Mott Street for delicious fried dumplings. Along the way, we’ll sample dim sum, slurp noodles and taste dim sum at Noodle Village, and wander through Kam Wan Supermarket, where the colorful aisles are an adventure in themselves.

There’s plenty more to come, including amazing bites at Hay Hay, a very special tea tasting, and Fay Da Bakery.

During this culinary adventure, we’ll explore the neighborhood one delicious discovery at a time. We’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at Raaka Chocolate, explore beautiful candles and home goods at Apotheke, and dig into smoky, mouthwatering BBQ at Hometown Bar-B-Que. Then we’ll indulge in lobster rolls from Red Hook Lobster Pound and one of the neighborhood’s legendary treats—Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pie.

There’s plenty to sip and see, too: we’ll visit Widow Jane for a bourbon tasting and explore the contemporary art world at Pioneer Works.

Along the way, we’ll sample Kossar’s Bialys, the oldest bialy bakery in the country; Yonah Schimmel Knish Bakery; and Russ & Daughters, the legendary specialty food shop. We’ll also stop at Pickle Guys and discover some of the neighborhood’s amazing new pizzerias, including Johnny’s, and Scar’s.

Our journey also includes a visit to Eldridge Street Synagogue and Museum, one of the oldest surviving synagogues in the United States and a true Lower East Side gem.
