Seattle Eats
So excited to share my Pacific Northwest eating excursion-Seattle Eats! Here are some highlights of the trip:
Pike Place Market, where you can see the original Starbucks, Beecher’s cheese for delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, mac and cheese, and the famous Biscuit Bitch. Definitely a must is the chocolate covered cherries. The dahlia flowers at the market are beautiful too.
Chateau St. Michelle, located in Woodinville. There are wine tasting rooms located right near the winery, we went to Delilie winery room. Also, close by is a restaurant called Barking Frog, very yummy! Check out the Willows Lodge across the parking lot from Barking Frog.
The Chihuly museum is a must see for the most amazing display of glass-blown art.
Ballard is a fun and hip area with a great farmers market, restaurants and shopping. We also loved Hot Cakes for the most decadent chocolate molten cakes.
Bainbridge Island is a quick ferry ride from the pier with ferries leaving about every 30 mins. Definitely go as the area is very walkable, and they have some cute shops and restaurants. Whitbey Island is about a 1 hour drive from downtown Seattle, and you can start at the Deception Park Falls, and then make fun stops along the way.
A must see is Mount Rainier. The hike up to the falls is beautiful, but don’t forget to wear hiking boots!
Restaurants and Areas in Seattle to Visit:
Starbucks Roastery Reserve
Renee Erickson’s restaurants are beautiful and delicious; including Whale Wins, Bar Melusine, and Bateau.
Check out Sitka & Spruce and London Plane; both of these restaurants are owned by Chef Matt Dillon. His selection of fresh, innovative, and seasonal dishes are absolutely delicious, and they both have a unique and hip vibe.
Via Tribunali in the fun Queen Anne area is delicious for Italian. And right next door to Via Tribunali is a fabulous ice cream shop named Molly Moon. For something unique, order a scoop of the Yeti.
In Pioneer Square, one of Seattle’s historical neighborhoods, check out London Plane for brunch and right next door is a great clothing shop called Clementines. And if you have your game hat on, catch a Seahawks game, the stadium is right down the street.
Around the corner is General Porpus with the most amazing donuts filled with seasonal homemade jams, they are outstanding! I am still dreaming about them!
On your walk back from Pioneer Square stop at Grand Central for flaky croissants, yummy bread and other good eats!
